Whisper Cove, Snells Beach

Shared landscaping and connection with the water is integral to the success of Whisper Cove Stage 1 - a 16 hectare luxury seaside development in Kawau Bay north of Auckland.

The design concepts were developed in conjunction with north american architect Pal Levitt to introduce to New Zealand condominiums and low rise apartment blocks with a distinct kiwi influence. Despite the large site building development was condensed so that the area of natural landscaping and walkways was maximised.  The design intention was to draw fingers of the beach setting up into close proximity with each and every residence. A subsequent article in the NZ Herald quoted praise from the authors of Caring For Our Coast, Lucy Brake and Raewyn Peart: "Incorporating waterways with native vegetation plantings into this development has increased the amenity values, created new habitat for indigeneous species and reduced contaminated run-off".
